Sweet Dreams

I've been keeping a detailed sleeping log since Flora was born-jotting down her last feeding for the night, what time she started and finished, a diaper change before or after, and a single or double swaddle for the night. The same information is documented for any over night diaper change and feeding. And at 5 weeks old we can say that baby girl is only waking up once throughout the night! This gives me, on average about 7.5-8 hours of sleep. And that ladies and gentlemen is AH-MAZING!!!

Her nightly schedule typically looks like this:

8:30pm-10pm:
Diaper change followed by a 45-50 minute feeding (she started these lengthy feedings herself about a week ago which has since then helped her sleep through most of the night!) ending the session w/a diaper change if needed.

Usually 3-3:30am:
Diaper change & feeding

Then back to sleep mama and baby go! Zzzz

***Since she's now sleeping almost a solid 8 hours, and because we're using cloth diapers, I add a doubler (extra absorption) inside her fitted diaper I'm convinced this helps her sleep better and longer.

Also Daddy's super snuggly double swaddle does the trick too. No doubt about it!

At the same time, Flora has practically outgrown her bassinet so she'll be sleeping in her crib in about another week or two. Therefore, this week we'll start to place her in there for naps during the day to get acclimated.

And today marks 6 weeks old! She's smiling now!
