My love

I love this baby girl to the moon & back.

6 month photo shoot

I came across Carola Hochst, a local photographer who is publishing a coffee table book full of images of baby girls, the concept "celebrating little girls". Flora is one of  50 babies who will be published in the book and who recently had her photo session done right here in Marin. I wanted to participate in Carola's project first because who doesn't like an excuse to dress their baby up in uber cute clothes and have free photos taken, but the idea behind the book is one that is now close to my heart. Many countries do not celebrate the birth of a baby girl- they're shunned, paid no attention to, given away or up for adoption and the thought of that is heartbreaking. My daughter has given my Husband and I such indescribable and insurmountable joy I want to celebrate her in every way imaginable. Here are few of my favorites that Carola captured of our precious princess.

Let's play catch up!

Here's what's been happening this past month!
- Walked downtown to watch our local 4th of July Parade, it was 97 degrees that day...
-We went to the California Beer Fest in town. It was also really HOT that day. We met friends there & drank lots of beer.
-I started the 4 Hour Body Diet a month ago & have lost a little over 10 lbs. I have 50 lbs more to go.
-I also joined Stroller Strides & am going to class 3x a week & walking about 4 miles on the other days.
-Several visits from my parents & my nieces during the week.
-Different meals I had these past few weeks. High in protein, veggies, no fruit or carbs.
-We walked across the Golden Gate Bridge. It was Brian's first time!
-Flora turned 6 months old!!!
-She's tried sweet potato, avocado, pear, acorn squash & peaches from our tree! I also gave her water for the first time in her sippy cup. She loves it, just like her mama ;))
-I swear she's going to pull herself up from the sitting position any day now! So we lowered her crib mattress the other day.
-She loves Jack Johnson, The Alphabet song, standing, jumping in her jumparoo, sitting up all by herself, tummy tickles, and laughing at her puppy.
-Spending lots of time with my playgroup- wine nights, hikes through Mill Valley, & many many walks around town & lunch dates. I love these ladies & it's so fun watching our babies grow up together!

Short & Sweet!

Ok, not much time here, Baby girl is down for her afternoon nap.

She is 5 months and 1 week old, woke up with her first cold this morning (BOO!), ate solids for the first time last week! She LOVED it, we gave her sweet potato. She was grabbing at the spoon and trying to feed herself, silly girl. Sits up unassisted, loves chewing on her feet, really enjoys me singing the ABC's to her and is mesmerized by her Daddy's voice and when he sings her Grateful Dead songs. She usually calms down and/or falls right alseep. Go, Daddy, go!

Tomorrow is the 4th of July and I have two outfits, yes two!, that I'll be dresing her up in! Pictures to come, I promise!

Happy 4th y'all, have fun, stay cool (it's only a cool (bullshit!) 95 degrees here) Holiday with your loved ones!
