Feels like Spring Time!

This morning I organized a walk in town with my girlfriend Amy and her 8 week old baby girl Lara. We meet for coffee and a quick bite and walked and talked for about an hour an a half. We could have kept walking for hours since the weather was so gorgeous out, sunny with a light breeze but it was time to feed the little ones. Although she's returning back to work the end of March, we're hoping to keep up the walks at least once a month. Perhaps as the weather gets warmer we could even trek out to the coast and take the little ones to the beach. Our options are endless with the awesome baby carriers we both use. We have a Beco Gemini in Garden Black and we both love it so much that we're purchasing another in a different pattern and color this week.

We're home now enjoying some sunshine in the backyard listen to the birds chirping. Spring is definitely in the air and Flora is loving it!

Such a Ham!

The pictures from Flora's newborn photo session are ready and we can't wait to purchase some prints to hang in our home! Thanks to my good friend  Robin who is building her photography portfolio, we can now dress up our bare walls with the most precious pictures of the newest member of our family.

Here are just a few of our favorites... our "Flora-teeny" is too cute! And she's just 2 weeks old here!

Meet & Greet

Yesterday was the first gathering with Flora and her HypnoBirthing baby friends and their wonderful mamas (minus Jen and Baby S) since they've all been born, Flora being the last one to arrive.

We gathered at Julissa's house for lunch and finally shared each others birth stories, and caught up on life as new moms. It was really
refreshing to see them and know that these ladies and I share a special bond with having our babies born just a few weeks apart and that we share very similar perspectives on birthing a baby naturally and raising them in a calm and safe environment at home.

We plan on meeting up at least once a month for a playdate, locations and activities TBD. However we did determine yesterday that I'm hosting next month's
gathering. So I'm now brainstorming and working on ideas and decor for a Springtime tea and brunch at my house.

Random Acts of Kindness

I watched this video today and it reminded me of myself when I was a little girl.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sv4PJWjk9M&sns=em

When my Father used to work in San Francisco he would go into the office periodically on the weekend and I would ask to go with him. I enjoyed the alone time with him, walking the busy city streets and running up and down his office hallways. But I mostly look forward to our morning ritual on the way there which was buying donuts for the homeless people that we would pass on the way to his building from his company parking garage. Not only was this idea mine but I begged him to let me take it a step further. A few of the homeless had pets and although I'm sure the cats and dogs would have enjoyed a bite of the old fashion donuts we were handing out, I insisted we also bring milk for the kittens and cat and dog food. I just couldn't walk past them and do nothing. My sweet Father always agreed and took the extra time to help me gather these items for my weekend act of kindness.

I've always had a BIG place in my heart and a huge passion for spreading joy, love, kindness and postivity to those who need it most and this memory is one of the many ways I've been able to act on it.

Now, with my own daughter, I envision her following in my footsteps. I see Flora as the little girl in this video. And I look forward to teaching her the beauty of acting out random acts of kindness daily, respecting others and taking care of the less fortunate, weak, abandon and neglected.

Be kind to one another. XOXO

Flora's First Photo Session

A wonderful friend from my elementary school recently contacted me via FB and offered to take a newborn photo session of Flora as a way to help build her photography portfolio. She came over yesterday and spent two and a half hours shooting out little "crunch-a-munch around the house, clothed and naked, with and with out mommy and daddy, and Nana Brian's mother, who is in town until Wednesday.

She posted a sneak peek picture today that I of course had to share!!!

I can't wait to frame some prints and decorate the walls in her nursery!
