And a Baby Makes Three!

My best friend had her baby this morning! That makes Baby Flora and Baby S 2 months and 1 day a part! Soo great!
Welcome Baby S, Happy Birthday! We love you!

Sunday Brunch

Yesterday I hosted two of my girlfriends and their babies for a Spring Brunch. In preparation for their arrival, Brian and I wanted the house and yard to be presentable. Therefore we kicked the Spring cleaning into high gear on Friday mowing both front and back lawns, swept and vacuumed, bought fresh flowers and made home made goodies for the ladies to enjoy. Included on the menu was: fresh squeezed honey ginger lemonade, cherry tomato and avocado with goat cheese crostinis, waldorf chicken salad, fruit salad, shortbread cookies and my all-time favorite bird's nest cookies.

The babies were sweet as could be as we passed them around, each taking time to hold each others. The oldest is Isabella who is three months old (exactly 1 month older than Flora), then Lara who follows just a week behind and Little Miss Flora who was 2 months yestetday!

Celebrating Spring!

On Thursday Baby girl and I went to Marin's 28th Annual Farm Day. It was a free event for children of all ages to learn more about all things Agriculture including animals, the importance of farming and the environment. Even though Flora is such a young age I know it's important to expose her to a world of different sounds, sights and smells. We saw baby lambs, a pony, rat, rabbit, a baby calf, chickens and a dog. I know it'll be an even sweeter experience for Flora when she's a little older and will probably attend with her school for a field trip. I'm sure that she is going to be an animal lover just like her Mama.

Afterwards, Brian was able to leave work for the remainder of the day and meet us for lunch at a local BBQ joint near-by.

Later that afternoon I was invited to my girlfriend's salon for her Spring Fling party. She had pink champagne, and small bites: macaroons, mini donuts and quiche to name a few. She also had a tarot card/palm reader. Apparently I'm going to die in another country and I'm extremely powerful with my emotions. What does that mean?!

Pajama Party

I'm obsessing over these cozy, cute and brightly colored pj's for Flora to wear this Summer. And since I doubt this obsession will go anywhere let's consider this posting on pj's part one of many more to come.

Out & About

Tuesday: We went to a Kindermusik Class with Amy & Baby Lara here in town. The first class is free (which is one of the reasons why I suggested we attend) and it incorporates sign language, music and dance for newborns to 12 months. The class lasted for 45 minutes and both babies were awake and alert the entire time. It was entertaining to see what sights and sounds Flora enjoyed and paid attention, along with observing the older babies in the class, sitting up, crawling and walking and participating in their own way.

Afterwards we went to lunch at an Italian restaurant downtown and sat outside to soak up the warm Spring air.

Wednesday: I did some serious Spring cleaning. And it's going to be continued all weekend long!

Thursday: Flora's 7 weeks old!!!
Flora and I drove across the Golden Gate Bridge for her first time, and visited Auntie Katy and Baby Sage (still cozy in her belly) due to arrive any day now. Katy prepared quite the selection of lunch items. The menu included: avocado and cherry tomato with goat cheese crostinis, twice baked potatoes, fruit salad, and chicken salad tea sandwiches. We visited for hours laughing and discussing everything baby. It's so exciting to know my best friend is going to be a mommy in just a matter of days! I can't wait to meet Baby Sage and have play dates!

Friday: Brian finished work early and had a rough week with BS at the office so naturally I insisted that we pack up the car and drive out to the countryside for a relaxing picnic. But first I demanded he take two double chilled vodka shots at our local (and favorite) watering hole. One in my honor of course. And yes I sat in the car, with the dog and baby while he threw 'em back.

Saturday: We took a trip to Costco and picked up a new, smaller dog bed for Newts and came a cross a deal we couldn't refuse on my favorite beer, Kona Longboard (variety pack)!
