3 Months old

Yes folks, this happened for her 3 month photo! (which was April 24th. I'm a few days late here, bare with me!)

I'm typically not into all the "fru-fru glam" stuff like big headbands and flowers, but my mom started making a shit ton of super cute headbands for Baby Flora so I couldn't resist trying one on...which of course led to pink and white leg warmers....which then naturally led to a pink ruffle butt diaper cover to complete the look.

"Thank heaven for little girls."

Weekend Wrap Up

Friday morning we (as in Newts too!) drove up to Lake Tahoe and spent 4 luxurious days in North Lake at my cousins cabin with my parents and brother and my two nieces. It was an early birthday present from my parents to kick off my 30th which just so happens to be a week away! We did what everyone does when in Tahoe during Springtime-eat, drink, hot tub, take long afternoon walks (and naps) and repeat the next day. It was glorious. It was sunny with a cool mountain breeze the entire trip. It was also Flora's first trip to Tahoe so we had to snag her a cute souvenir on our way out. We also went to the Earth Day Festival at Squaw Valley and scored some eco-friendly treats and toys for Newts :)

Brian and I have actually started thinking about making the move there permanently in five years or so. Crazy thought...or is it ;)

6. Sleeping baby. Aka Crunch, Flora-Bear, Flora-tini, or Skittle Butt.
7. Playing with my precious. Priceless.

What a Weekend!

This past weekend was filled with fun times with friends, new and old.

Saturday morning I met up with a mom and baby group that I organized through the mothers club here in town, all babies born between Jan-April 3013. We met at a local coffee house and sat outside soaking up the sun. So far the group consists of 6 members, with the newest and youngest baby just a week old (was not present) will be joining the group in another few weeks! We discussed birth stories, future play dates, exercise routines and happy hours for future gatherings.

Later that day Brian and I caught up with my girlfriend Jen and her hubby at a local brewery in town. There was a Bayou New Orleans cover band playing so we ordered drinks and apps and scored a sweet table outside close to the music. It's so nice catching up with old friends because even when you're not able to see each other as often as you'd like because life gets busy, it always feels like old times, like nothing has changed. So cheers to that and great friends and food music!

Sunday my other girlfriend Jen hosted the three HypnoBirthing moms
and babies at her house for a brunch and clothing give-away. She has a toddler daughter and now a newborn son which has completed their family so she generously offered up all her daughters old clothes to the three of us with baby girls! It was fabulous. I snagged some brand new pink rain boots, tights, onesies, striped leggings, and a sweet like red and white gingham dress with tulips. I suggested our next gathering should be a hike sometime next week because I really need to get my ass in shape!

As for this week, we're Tahoe bound Friday morning to meet my parents and brother and his two beautiful girls for my 30th birthday celebration! Off to the mountains we go for 4 days of R&R!

Shoe Happy

Although Flora is only 10.5 weeks old and can't walk, let alone crawl yet, I've already started on her shoe collection. The color block sandals are from Old Navy, fold over booties from Baby Gap, and the others I wore when I was a wee one from Paris, France nonetheless. It'll be so fun to see Flora-Bear crawling and running around in these!

This is Juicy!

Last night I juiced a bag full of grapefruits that my brother in-law brought up from Southern California as well as a hand full of yellow limes from my Mother's tree. I added about a teaspoon and a half of freshly grated ginger and volia! My breakfast for the week.
And a snapshot of my grocery list for my lunches and dinners-green smoothies and chicken/salmon with a side of veggies.
